7 new sounds for Hotone Xtomp (and they’re free)

This month’s addition to the Hotone library includes models of Steve Vai’s signature amp head, a ring modulator, bass overdrive, a stereo chorus and more (full information below). The update is completely free and available now from App Store and Google Play. Xtomp is a chameleon stompbox. Legato Lead
The Legato Lead is based on the Carvin®Legacy VL100* amp head (LEAD channel), Steve Vai’s signature model. The Legato Lead recreates the iconic “Love of God” lead sound that features smooth highs, slightly scooped mids and wild lows. The right output features a fine-tuned cab simulator based on the sound characteristics of a Carvin® C412* 4x12 closed-back cabinet with four 12-inch Celestion™ Vintage 30™* speakers. 

Adam 1x15
This model is a cabinet simulator based on the sound characteristics of an Eden® EX115* 1x15 bass cabinet with a 15-inch speaker. 

Aozora Chorus
The blue sky of chorus. Based on the legendary Arion® SCH-1 Stereo Chorus* pedal, this Aozora chorus brings you a beautiful 80s vibe, everything from classic chorus to killer rotary effects. Clapton and Landau loved this sound. The output mode is fixed to stereo mode. 

Bella
This is a ring modulator which produces interesting inharmonic frequency spectra. The Freq, Tone and Mix controls are tweak up unique bell and chime effects, and a Fine knob gives you extracontrol over the frequency. 

Path Filter
This model is a 4-step filter machine for creating synth-like sounds. Each step features an individual frequency control, and a speed control sets the sequencing speed. Hold the footswitch to engage Tap Tempo function. In Tap Tempo mode, the LED around the footswitch will pulse to indicate the sequencing speed you set. Hold the footswitch again to disengage. 

Buzzsaw Beehive
This is a signature combo effect called together by sci-fi bassist John Ferrara. It combines bass overdrive and phaser in one. The bass overdrive is an all-around drive machine with a 2-band EQ and individual driven/clean signal ratio control, it gives you a massive bass sound with wide flexibility. The phaser features a classic analog phasing tone. One-knob control keeps it simple.

About John FerraraJohn Ferrara is the bassist for sci-fi Middle Eastern fusion band Consider the Source. Originally hailing from New York City, the band now tours the globe year-round, playing concerts and teaching master classes on fusing Middle Eastern and Western music. Individually, John is acclaimed in the bass world for his unique, aggressive and rhythmically complex approach to slap bass.
