More free sounds for Xtomp

April saw another installment of free sounds added to the Xtomp library, but this one is a little bit special as it includes two patches made by Grammy winning sound engineer and guitarist, Larry Mitchell: “Ripples in time” and “Byzantium”. They join seven other additions from cab simulators, to an Electro-Harmonix® modelled filter, to a recreation of the classic Maxon® stereo chorus pedal. Best of all, they’re totally free… You can find more details on each patch below:

What is Xtomp?

New additions to the library

Eddie 51
The Eddie 51 is based on a heavy rock legend: the Peavey®6505(LEAD channel). The original is famous for its raw tone and relentless power and our Eddie 51 gives you the “brown metal” sound heard on legendary heavy metal records. The RESONANCE knob is fixed at 12 o’clock.

The right output features a fine-tuned cab simulator based on the sound characteristics of a Peavey®6505* 2x12 cabinet with two 12-inch Sheffield® 1200* speakers.

Hacker 4x12
This model is a cabinet simulator based on the sound characteristics of a Hartke®*4x12 guitar cabinet with four 12-inch aluminum cone speakers.

Bouncy Q
This little filter bounces every note back with a vocal-like tone. Based on the famous Electro-Harmonix® Bassballs* pedal, it features two narrow filters generating very unique vocal-like sounds. Sounds great on both guitar and bass!

Custom Trem
With 4 different waveforms to choose from, Custom Trem will be the all-star of all your tremolo pedals. The Color and Shape knobs ensure super wide tonal range and flavor.

You can hold the footswitch to engage Tap Tempo function. In Tap Tempo mode, the LED around the footswitch will pulse to indicate the effect speed you set. Hold the footswitch again to disengage.

Spatial Ensemble
The Spatial Ensemble is based on the famous Maxon® CS-550 Stereo Chorus* pedal, featuring a wide ranged, edgy stereo chorus tone that stands out from other chorus units. Write your own story with the D-TIME (pre delay) knob!

Warden
The Warden is a fully-functional noise gate with detailed control. The individual Attack, Hold and Release controls play nice with amps and other pedals.

Blue Sustainer
The Blue Sustainer is based on the legendary 3-knob compressor/sustainer pedal, which produces warm, natural compression with long sustain and some gentle clipping.

Ripples in Time
This is a signature combo effect called together by virtuoso Larry Mitchell. It combines tremolo and delay in one.

The tremolo gives you a natural, rounded sine wave tone. Use the Depth and Speed knobs to control the tremolo depth and speed, and the Color knob to adjust the tremolo tone.

The delay is pure echo sound with a fixed feedback amount. The delay time range is 20ms-1000ms.

Hold the footswitch to engage Tap Tempo function. In Tap Tempo mode, the LED around the footswitch will pulse to indicate the delay time you set. Hold the footswitch again to disengage.

Byzantium
This is a signaturecombo effect called together by virtuoso Larry Mitchell. It combines overdrive and delay in one.

The overdrive delivers a warm, tight, organic sound character with great clarity, and the built-in boost function (located after the overdrive) helps to push your amp to the summit.
